Courses after 10th standard

The first war of life is class 10th boards exams. We also can say that 10th class is first ladder of a student’s carrier.  You are currently preparing for 10th boards examination because you want to get higher marks to compete with this competitive world. In between this you do not have enough time to concentrate on your carrier after 10th. After results various advises of your friends and parents will confuse you which results to
select you a wrong stream. To chose right subject according to your area of interest enhance the carrier and job opportunities for you. So if you are struggling with this situation and not able to select a appropriate subject than this post will definitely help you. 
To obtain a strong foundation for further studies like graduation and post graduation, a good option after 10th is studying +2 or PUC. The selection of the streams in +2 depends upon the students aptitude, grade and marks. But the most important factor is one's keen interest in the subject and the purpose for selecting the course. The streams available in the PUC level are: 

  1. Science Stream with Mathematics / Biology / Computer / Bio-Math
  2. Commerce Stream
  3. Arts or Humanities Stream
If you are selecting science stream, you have an option to come back to commerce or arts field after PUC. There are lot of options available for students of science stream. They can either take up conventional courses such as engineering, medical, management etc. or go for many other upcoming options in the present scenario. If you are selecting commerce stream in PUC, you can have the option of taking courses in arts field at a later stage but cannot go for science field.


Career Options After 10th 

Commerce Stream: – Commerce stream offers many subjects like Accounts, business studies etc. students who are interested in accounts, economics or business subjects should choose these subjects. After 12th   commerce there are various popular graduate courses offered by universities like BBA, BBM, CA, CS, ICWA, CFP etc. 
Students also can appeared in some entrance exams after 10th mentioned below:-
  • CA
    Foundation Course.
  • CS
    Foundation Course.
  • ICWA
    Foundation Course.
Arts Stream: – This stream has a variety of Subjects which offers exciting opportunities after 12th. in this stream you can chose subject History, Geography, Political Science, Home Science, Psychology,
English, Hindi, philosophy etc. English and Hindi are two compulsory subjects which you have to study with optional subjects. If you are interested in social services, human rights, history, geography than we advise you to choose this Stream. You also can go for courses of mass media and journalism after 12th. 

Science Stream: – This stream offers 5 subjects English, Hindi, Physics, chemistry, mathematics/Bio-logy and all subjects are compulsory except Mathematics and Biology. You can choose one of these two. If want to make your carrier in medical field than you should chose Biology because this offers variety of courses after 12th like MBBS, BDS, BHMS, Pharmacy etc.

If you are interested in some technical field than you should chose Mathematics as 5th subject because after 12th you can go for various engineering courses like engineering in computer, electronic, civil and in architectural courses etc.    

Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Industrial Training Centres (ITCs) : Constituted under Ministry of Labour, Union Government of India, Government-run ITIs and privately-run ITCs are training organisations which provide training in technical field. ITI courses are designed to impart basic skills needed for a specified trade like electrician, machinist, fitter, plumber, turner, welder etc. and depending upon trade, the duration of course may vary from one year to three years. After passing the course a person may opt to undergo practical training in his trade in an industry. A National Trade Certificate (NTC) in provided by NCVT (National Council for Vocational training ) in the concerned trade and to obtained this certificate one has to qualify the All India Trade Test (AITT). These people can find job openings in government sectors like Indian Railways, telecom departments etc. after qualifying a written examination. 

Polytechnic Diploma: – Students who want to get admission in technical courses should take admission in polytechnic diploma. It is a 3 year course. After this course they can get admission directly in 2nd year of B.Tech. 

Certification courses: – Candidates can get admissions in certificate courses after class 10th like networking; tally etc. but these courses have less job opportunity. These courses have time duration of 6
months 1 year according to preference of student. 
 
Indian Army : After matriculation, one can join in Indian Army to the posts of soldiers in technical trade through written exams like Indian Army Soldier Clerks Examination, Indian Army Soldier General Duty (N.E.R.) Examination, Indian Army Soldier Technical (M.E.R.) Examination, Indian Army Soldier Nursing Assistants (M.E.R.) Examination etc. 

Indian Navy : Job opportunities are available in Indian Navy as Dock Yard Apprentices, Sailors, Artificer Apprentices, etc. on the basis of written examination. 

Police Force : On the basis of physical test and written test, one can join as constable (tradesmen) in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts clerks grade examination for those who passed matriculation. For those who interested in teaching field can undergo training in diploma course for nursery and primary teachers conducted by the departments of primary education in various States. Students can join for 3 year engineering diploma courses in polytechnics. Several job oriented short term courses are available in IT sector and other fields like web designing, animation, fashion designing etc. Apart these, there are so many options, specially self employment opportunities are available for the school leavers depending upon their expertise.

  2. Thanks for sharing great thoughts. Are you a student or failed in 9th or 11th class want to complete Intermediate so take Patrachar Admission to clarify 10th or 12th class exam Cbse Patrachar is best Option for those students who want to continue their education.
